Anne Richards

Anne is the Chief Investment Officer and head of the EMEA region for Aberdeen Asset Management, where she is also a main board director. She began her career as a research fellow at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, in Geneva, moving into the investment world in 1992. Her career has included research analysis, portfolio management and global asset allocation, and includes time with JP Morgan and Mercury Asset Management, later MLIM. In 2002 she joined the main board of Edinburgh Fund Managers plc as Chief Investment Officer and Joint Managing Director. She continued in her role as global Chief Investment Officer for the combined entity when EFM was taken over by Aberdeen Asset Management in 2003.

Anne also holds a number of non executive positions, including eSure, EveryChild, the University of Edinburgh, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Duchy of Lancaster. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh and INSEAD, Anne is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, and holds a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance (ACCA). She is a FN100 Women in Finance, Funds Awards Europe European Chief Investment Officer 2012 and a member of the Board of Leaders of 2020 Women on Boards.
